The Historic Village of Eyam

The village of Eyam was devastated by an outbreak of the Great Plague between 1665/66 as a result of contaminated cloth brought from London to the village tailor.  Up to a third of the local population perished during those desperate days.

The Museum charts the villages descent into despair and onward to recovery.
