The nearby village of Castleton is the home of the Blue John Mine, Speedwell Cavern with its underground boat ride and other caverns well worth a visit.   You will find an excellent Tourist Information Centre as well as a wide selection of gift shops and cafes.

The Derwent and Ladybower Reservoirs
Spectacular views from Bamford edge. An area of outstanding natural beauty. You can walk for miles around the dams, as well asup and over the moors. Park at Fairholmes car park and visitor centre, and don't miss the Derwent Dam museum, home of the RAF Dambuster memorabilia..a fascinating history. As are the silent villages hidden beneath the dams. Its the most wonderful, serence place to spend a day..don't miss it.
