Where We Are in the Peak District...

Mead Farm is situated in the heart of The Peak National Park with easy access to walks in every direction.  The village of Edale is approximately 5 miles away, the start of the Pennine Way.  We are situated between Hathersage and Castleton.

The village of Hope is about 10 minutes walk away and has local shops and pubs.  The Spar shop is  is open from 08.00an until 10.00pm most days , very useful for emergency rations!  There is a local garage in Hope for fuel and repairs and also a 24 hour petrol station in Bamford about 5 miles away.  Also in Hope there is a farm shop selling local produce, and Chinese and Indian Takeaway.  For guests staying longer, most large supermarkets to deliver!

The railway station is two miles away from the village and is on the main Manchester to Sheffield line.  There is a bus route which runs through to Sheffield  from Castleton.  Taxis are available, but would need to be booked in advance.  Please contact us for telephone numbers.

In the case of an emergency, there is a local doctors practice with an attached pharmacy.
