We've enjoyed a perfect stay in this lovely barn - you've catered for absolutely everythign we could think of! We especially appreciated the welcome pack, the home-made scones and jam were delicioous (and we definelty know a thing or two about scones!). Great position for walking without having to use the car. Wlaked both Win Hill, Lose Hill and Jacobs Ladder. We will definelty be back and will be recommending this lovely cottage to friends and family. First class!

This was our forst visit to the Peak District and we have loved the variety of landscapes and villages. We often head for the lake district for hill walking but now we know what Derbyshire has to offer we will definetly be back! The Acorn is beautifullt furnished and decorated, with everything we could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Perfect!

What an amazing first trip to the Peak District! Weather has been fantastic and has allowed us to fit many wonderful walks in, including Mam Tor, Edale and parts of Kinder Scout. The heather in full bloom was a real bonus laying a purple carpet over much of the landscape. The superb cottage is excellently located within Hope and Castleton.

We booked both cottage together and had a great weekend meeting up with old friends. Visitied Chatsworth House and several other National Trust properties in the area. Lovely cottage with great touches throughout making it extra special. The lovely weather we enjoyed was the icing on the cake!

A fantastic week starting with a lovely welcome from Chris and home-made scones still warm from the oven! Thank you for looking after us again in our second visit to The Barn A great place to stay, so comfortable and relaxing. Have spent the week cycling and walking in superb sunny conditions. Enjoyed breakfast outside and tea and scones on the outside patio at the end of our days out. Had a fun evening at The Cheshire Chese pub just down the lane, great food and live folk music! Hope to be back again soon.

We will be recommending you to family and friends. Nice to be able to walk straight from the front door, either into the hills to explore the area or down the lane to the great little pub! Perfect!

First time staying at this luxurious getaway. Touches such as warm scones on arrival and the friendly warm greeting from our hosts and the peace and quiet made our weekend copmplete. Would recomend the walk to Hope - Lose Hill - Mam Tor - Winnats Pass - Castleton - Hope. A great way to spend the day. Will definetly be back and recommend to friends and family.

We have had the most amazing week here at The Barn. The cottage is perfect and relaxing after a day walking. Weather has been unexpectedly hot! Great location here in Hope and we have done walks around Ladybower, Chatsworth and The Edges - highly recommend them all! A twighlight jacuzzi at Losehill Spa just down the road from The Barn was a treat. The local pub was great and we also ventured into Castleton. We will definetly come back here to stay in the future.

We have really enjoyed our weeks stay here on Mead Farm and our first real adventure into The Peaks. There are some fabulous walks from the farm - including a leisurely stroll to Castleton and a tougher climb up to Lose Hill which is rewarded by the most beautiful panoramic views.

We drove all the way from Scotland for the weekend and will definetly be back again. The Barn and facilities are first class and the scones and warm welcome were a real bonus. We had some really tasty meals out at the local pubs and Chatsworth House was a real highlight.

We enjoyed lots of hikes, and visiting the National Trust Eyam Hall and museum. The Cheshire Chese Inn (2 minutes walk from the cottage) does great beer and food. We're sorry to be going home and would love to back again soon.

It is easy to see why The Oaks has a five star rating. It is a great home from home and we have enjoyed our week here. The nice touches on arrival (warm scones and home-made jam!) as well as the friendliness of Chris & Tanya made us slip straight into the holiday mood the monent we walked in. Weather was kind and we enjoyed being outdoors most days. Took 4 hours to complete the Mam Tor route from our front door back to the front door..... fantastic!
